The technology involves irrigation of the gas stream with special solutions

The method is based on irrigating off gas with the dedicated solutions. Toxic gas is completely dissolved in the liquid, when it is in maximum contact with associated solids and mixing is more intensive.

While storing produced water in sealed tanks, vapors escape through a vent line to the atmosphere. The line in turn goes to a scrubber, where hydrogen sulfide is neutralized. The scrubber will then produce H2S-free gas.

Positive pressure is always maintained in the tank to avoid vacuum and air entrainment. The pressure is regularly maintained with nitrogen gas, thus creating a safe «nitrogen blanket» with oxygen content inside the tank.

Legislative Requirements

Requirements to dispose hydrogen sulfide are defined by the RoK Minister of Investment and Development Order #355 «On approving the Rules of industrial safety for hazardous facilities of petroleum industry» dated 30.12.2014.

According to regulatory documents, no harmful substances, including gases, may be released into the atmosphere without neutralization and combustion.
